Cancellation Policy

1. Purpose

This Cancellation Policy outlines the terms for cancelling or rescheduling cleaning services booked with Kind Care Cottage Domestic Cleaning. The policy ensures fairness, transparency, and professionalism in line with UK and Scotland consumer standards.

2. Booking Confirmation

All cleaning appointments must be confirmed via phone, WhatsApp, email, or written agreement. Once confirmed, the time slot is reserved exclusively for the client.

3. Deposit Requirement

A deposit of £30 is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This deposit covers the first hour of your cleaning service and is deducted from your total bill.

4. Cancellation Notice

Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancellations made with sufficient notice will not incur any charges and the deposit will be refunded in full.

5. Late Cancellations (Less Than 24 Hours)

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment will result in the £30 deposit being non-refundable. An additional charge of up to 50% of the total booking cost may apply to cover reserved time and operational expenses.

6. Same-Day Cancellations & No Access

Same-day cancellations, missed appointments, or failure to provide property access may result in a charge of up to 100% of the scheduled service fee.

7. Rescheduling Policy

Clients may reschedule their appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability. We will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative suitable time.

8. Access to Property

Clients must ensure safe and timely access to the property. If cleaners are unable to access the property at the agreed time, a call-out fee or full service charge may apply.

9. Company Right to Reschedule

Kind Care Cottage Domestic Cleaning reserves the right to reschedule services due to staff illness, emergencies, severe weather, or unsafe working conditions. Clients will be notified as soon as possible.

10. Health & Safety

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and COSHH Regulations 2002, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel services if the environment is unsafe or hazardous.

11. Refund Policy

Refunds are not applicable for late cancellations, missed appointments, or lack of access. Any prepaid services will be reviewed fairly in line with UK Consumer Rights guidance.

12. Governing Law (Scotland)

This policy is governed by the laws of Scotland and relevant UK legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Kind Care Cottage fully complies with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH). We take the safe use, handling, and storage of cleaning substances seriously to protect our staff, our clients, and their families.

Safety Data Sheets & Training

All cleaning products used by our team have been assessed for risk and are accompanied by up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Our cleaners are trained in the correct handling, dilution, and application of all substances used on your property.

Eco-Friendly Priority

We prioritise the use of eco-friendly, non-toxic, and biodegradable cleaning products wherever possible. Where stronger products are required (for example, during deep cleans or oven cleaning), appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used and ventilation is ensured.
